Richmond Historic Haunts
Three brands. One commitment to the stories behind the places.
Richmond Historic Haunts is the company behind three distinct storytelling brands. Each serves a different audience and follows its own subject matter, but all three are built around careful research, experienced presentation, and a belief that history becomes more meaningful when it is connected to the places around us.
Richmond’s Original Ghost Tour Company Since 2004
Haunts of Richmond
Haunts of Richmond explores the city’s haunted history through outdoor walking tours, private experiences, and special events. Its routes reach across Richmond’s historic neighborhoods, including Shockoe Bottom, Church Hill, Capitol Hill, Court End, Monroe Park, and the Franklin Street corridor.
The stories begin with documented people, places, and events before turning toward the legends and reported encounters that have followed them. Guests are invited to consider what happened, what has been remembered, and what may still resist an easy explanation.
Public and private experiences are available throughout the year and are led by Richmond’s most experienced team of professional ghost tour guides.
What visitors will find
- Six established Richmond ghost tour routes
- Public and private walking tours

Richmond history beyond the familiar
RVA Hidden History Storytellers
RVA Hidden History Storytellers grew from the many compelling pieces of Richmond history that did not belong on a ghost tour. Its walking tours move beyond the standard overview to examine the people, conflicts, industries, and ideas that shaped the city in ways that are not always obvious from the modern streetscape.
The company offers public walking tours as well as private programs, history dinners, speaking engagements, and step-on guide services. Every experience is designed to be informative, conversational, and grounded in the places where history happened.
For longtime Richmonders and first-time visitors alike, RVA Hidden History offers a reason to slow down, look closer, and reconsider the city around them.
What visitors will find
- Year-round Richmond history tours
- Public and private experiences
- History dinners and special programs
- Speaking engagements
- Step-on city guide services
History lingers. We keep the record.
Richmond Haunts Media
Richmond Haunts Media carries the work beyond the walking-tour route. It is an independent archive of haunted history, folklore, dark history, travel, and place-based stories from Richmond and around the world.
The archive brings together long-form episodes, shorter videos, conversations, field stories, and written dispatches in a format designed for discovery. Visitors can browse by location, subject, date, or format, then follow a single story or wander wherever curiosity leads.
Richmond remains the foundation, but the archive has room to travel. It provides an editorial home for stories that deserve more time, a wider frame, or a different kind of telling.
What visitors will find
- A searchable video and episode archive
- Long-form haunted-history programs
- Shorter stories and encounters
- Written dispatches and research notes
- Subjects reaching beyond Richmond
